MOLLE System (Modular Lightweight Load Carrying
Equipment) M.O.L.L.E. is a modular Load-Carrying system designed to enhance the survivability and lethality of the modern Soldier. MOLLE is a replacement for the All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment system (ALICE) and components of the Integrated Individual Fighting System including the Enhanced Tactical Load-Bearing Vest.
The MOLLE System consists of the following major components: A. Fighting Load
Carrier (FLC) Set with specialized pockets;
A common Fighting Load Carrier (FLC) vest, NSN 8465-01-525-0577, is provided for all Soldiers, with specialized removable pouches for Rifleman, Pistol, SAW Gunner, Grenadier and Medic configurations. Fighting Load Carrier (FLC) Vest, NSN 8465-01-525-0577:
(Contact Us for large quantities, or overseas (deployed unit) orders.) The modular Fighting Load Carrier (FLC) vest allows commanders to tailor their Soldiers' loads to meet mission needs without unnecessary extra pouches and gear. It is one size fits all, and is designed to be worn over body armor. The MOLLE pockets can be attached directly onto body armor for certain missions. However, when the pockets are placed directly on the armor, it limits the ability to take the fighting load off without exposing oneself to ballistic threats. In addition, this can create hazardous "hang-ups" for Soldiers such as Humvee gunners and armored vehicle crewmembers, who must move up and down through tight hatch openings quickly (during rollovers or enemy contact). For this reason, many units require their Soldiers to mount all pouches on the FLC vest, and leave the Interceptor Body Armor (IBA) / Outer Tactical Vest (OTV) as "clean" as possible. The Fighting Load Carrier (FLC) Set (pictured below), NSN 8465-01-525-0575 (sometimes called the "Rifleman Configuration"), is the most basic and commonly used assembly of these components. It consists of the following: 1. FLC Vest, NSN 8465-01-525-0577,

The SAW Gunner Configuration (pictured below) is made up of two 200-round magazine pouches and two 100-round magazine pouches (the MOLLE SAW Gunner Set, NSN 8465-01-524-7362), and two canteen / utility pouches.
The Grenadier Configuration (pictured below) consists of ten 40mm single high explosive grenade pouches, two double high explosive grenade pouches and two double pyrotechnic round pouches (the MOLLE Grenadier Set, NSN 8465-01-524-7624), along with two canteen / general purpose pouches.
The Medic Configuration (pictured below) includes four zippered medical pouches for the vest and two canteen / utility pouches. Three M4 double-magazine pouches can be substituted for the canteen pouches if needed. Medics also receive a specialized panel loading medical bag that has an additional four removable medical pouches attached to it. The MOLLE Medic Set, NSN 8465-01-524-7632, provides the 8 small medical pouches and the medical bag.
